Ajay Devgn has officially announced that Maidaan will be hitting the big screen during the Eid 2024 weekend.
Ajay Devgn-starring Maidaan has been one of the most anticipated films of the past couple of years. After multiple delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the film is set to finally release on the big screen during the Eid 2024 weekend. Maidaan is set to clash at the box office with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff in the lead roles.
Ajay shared a new poster from Maidaan, showing him playing football on the streets. While sharing the release date, the actor captioned it on social media as "The much-awaited game is about to flag off worldwide. Mark your calendars as #Maidaan takes over fields this Eid, April 2024, promising an inspiring tale that will leave you cheering and celebrating with pride."

The film follows the life of Syed Abdul Rahim, a legendary Indian football coach who brought about a revolution in the sport from 1952 to 1962. Rahim rose to prominence in Indian sports history as a result of his doggedness, leadership, and vision. It follows Rahim and the Indian football team through their struggles, setbacks, and victories as they try to break free of traditional norms and become world-renowned athletes.
Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, and Arunava Joy Sengupta produced the biographical sports drama film Maidaan, which was directed by Amit Sharma. The film also stars Priyamani, Rudranil Ghosh, and Gajraj Rao in pivotal roles, while the film is an AR Rahman musical.
Meanwhile, Ajay has almost five films lined up to release on the big screen in 2024. Apart from Maidaan, Ajay will star alongside R. Madhavan and Jyotika in Shaitaan. The actor will also be reprising his role as Bajirao Singham in Rohit Shetty's Singham Again. In addition, he will reprise his role as Amay Patnaik in Raid 2. Ajay is reuniting with Tabu after Bholaa in the film titled Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha.
