Election marks Thamizh’s second directorial. You can revisit his debut film Seththumaan on SonyLIV and OTTplay Premium. The film, which won appreciation in the film festival circuit, is a hard-hitting drama that talks about the food politics, which is a pivotal part of caste oppression in Tamil Nadu and India.

Seththumaan revolves around a basket weaver who aspires to offer a better life for his grandson. After one day he is employed by a few caste Hindus to cook pork, a meat that is usually frowned upon and seen as an inferior dish, the day turns out to be a testimony of the harsh reality. The film was backed by filmmaker Pa Ranjith.
