Even as Malayalam cinema was set to witness a massive face-off with various film bodies taking sides in the Antony Perumbavoor vs G Suresh Kumar rift, the latest development assures fans that the issue is headed for an amicable solution. Antony Perumbavoor has withdrawn the scathing Facebook post against G Suresh Kumar, after Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce president BR Jacob held talks with him. BR Jacob further informed Malayalam media channels that the film chamber has not decided on any token strike on March 27, 2025, and that theatres owners are waiting for Prithviraj Sukumaran and Mohanlal’s Empuraan release.
Hours after reports claimed that the Kerala Film Chamber was planning a token strike and sought new regulations, Antony Perumbavoor has deleted his FB post, criticising Suresh Kumar’s remarks about the Empuraan budget, stars producing films and more.
On Wednesday afternoon, the controversial post was found to be deleted from Antony Perumbavoor’s Facebook account.
The Film Chamber had earlier pledged their support to the producers association, and even sent a notice to Antony Perumbavoor. The notice threatened action if the Facebook post was not deleted, as per Malayalam media reports.
In his talks with chamber president BR Jacob, Antony Perumbavoor assured him that the post would be withdrawn.
The film chamber president also said that no strike has been planned for March, and "Empuraan is a film that theatre owners are waiting for". The concerns about the Empuraan release had earlier irked fans who voiced their protest on social media.

Earlier in the day, concerns were raised about the Mohanlal-starrer Empuraan's release after the film chamber said that exhibitors and distributors should seek prior permission for films releasing after March 25. This posed a direct challenge to Prithviraj Sukumaran's directorial as the second part in the Lucifer franchise is slated to release on March 27, 2025. With the film chamber president's assurance, any hurdle for L2 Empuraan's release appears to be removed.
