The shoot of Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran's much-anticipated Lucifer sequel movie, Empuraan, had to be postponed after Prithviraj faced an accident on the sets of his film, Vilayath Buddha. However, it has now been confirmed that the shoot for Empuraan will commence soon, with the promo shoot starting next week.
All about the first schedule of Empuraan
As per reports, the first schedule of the film will begin in the first week of October in Delhi, followed by a few days of shooting in Ladakh. Director Prithviraj has already said that Empuraan will be made on a grand scale. The film is about Mohanlal's character, Stephen Nedumpally's, past and the continuing storyline of Lucifer. Prithviraj will also reprise his role as Zayed Masood in the Lucifer sequel, which is bankrolled by Aashirvad Cinemas.
OTTplay had reported that Empuraan will be made on a budget of ₹100 crore-₹150 crore and is expected to be shot in six countries. Scripted by Murali Gopy, Empuraan is the second installment of the planned Lucifer trilogy.
Mohanlal's Neru and Vrushabha
The shoot for Empuraan was originally scheduled for August this year. After Prithviraj's accident delayed the shoot, Mohanlal's dates opened up, and he was able to complete the first phase of his pan-Indian epic action film, Vrushabha. Mohanlal will complete Jeethu Joseph's upcoming courtroom drama, Neru, before starting work on Empuraan.
Prithviraj's upcoming projects
Prithviraj has completed the filming for Aadu Jeevitham and is currently working on Vipin Das' Guruvayoor Amabalanadayil and Vilayath Buddha. He will also be seen alongside Prabhas in Salaar, which is directed by K.G.F.'s Prashanth Neel.
