Emraan Hashmi breaks silence on calling Aishwarya Rai Bachchan ‘plastic’ on Koffee With Karan - Here's what he said

Emraan Hashmi was last seen in the movie Tiger 3 with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. The actor is currently all set for the release of his upcoming show titled Showtime. The show, which is set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar is produced by Karan Hojar and also stars Rajeev Khandelwal and Mahima Makhwana. In a recent interview, the actor opened up about his controversial comment on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on Koffee With Karan. 

For the uninitiated, Hashmi appeared on Karan Johar's controversial show, Koffee With Karan Season 4 with filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. However, the episode is still considered one of the most controversial episodes for making some bold statements. 

Emraan Hashmi recalls facing the brunt after calling Aishwarya Rai Bachchan 'plastic'

Now, in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, when Emraan was asked if his character in Showtime resembles his controversial appearance on KWK, the Jannat actor said, "I am playing a fictional character here [Showtime], who calls a spade a spade. Talking about that show [Koffee With Karan] that you spoke about right now, well I had to bear the brunt for it for quite some time for really calling a spade a spade.”

The actor further revealed an unknown fact about the Koffee episode when he answered this about Aishwarya, KJo cut the shot and everyone was shocked. He said, "You know what, when that rapid-fire round happened, Karan had cut the shot, and he just looked around on the set and everyone was dumbfounded. He asked 'Can you actually keep this (Emraan's answer)?' And a couple of people behind the camera said 'Yes'".

For those who don't know, Emraan appeared on Koffee With Karan Season 4 with his uncle and filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. The episode attracted all the attention for its rapid-fire round. When Emraan was asked by the host, "The first thing that comes to your mind when you hear Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's name," Emraan responded promptly with "plastic," causing a stir all over the internet. Additionally, he made a controversial remark about Shraddha Kapoor's physique, suggesting that she should eat more, and also made comments on Mallika Sherawat. 

Meanwhile, Emraan Hashmi's upcoming show, Showtime, will be released on Disney+ Hotstar on March 8.
