If there ever were an honor for patience, Euphoria fans across the world would certainly deserve it, as they have waited for the third season of the show for the last three years without complaint. Starring Zendaya, the HBO Max series (formerly MX) is one of the most beloved IPs globally. It has been three years since the second season aired, and finally, on Monday, the makers confirmed that the cast has returned, and production for the third season is underway. In their latest announcement, they have also confirmed the cast for Season 3, but unfortunately, four original cast members will not be returning due to the long break.

Euphoria Season 3 Cast Confirmation

As Euphoria returns for its third, and possibly final, season, the makers have brought multiple new actors on board. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show has added NFL star-turned-actor Marshawn Lynch (Love Hurts), Grammy winner Rosalía, Kadeem Hardison (The Chi, A Different World), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Lost, Suicide Squad), Toby Wallace (FX’s Pistol), Priscilla Delgado, James Landry Hébert, Darrell Britt-Gibson, and Anna Van Patten. While Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Wallace will play pivotal roles, the others will have notable guest appearances.

The new actors will join returning regulars Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, and Maude Apatow. Colman Domingo will also return but as a guest star. Martha Kelly and Chloe Cherry, from Season 2, will reprise their roles. The storyline will take a leap, skipping the high school years and moving the story forward.

Sadly, four actors will not be returning for the new season: Storm Reid, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, and Algee Smith. Whether due to the delay in Season 3 or scheduling conflicts, this is undoubtedly disappointing for fans of both the actors and the show.

Euphoria to End With Season 3?

According to Deadline, at the premiere of The White Lotus Season 3, Francesca Orsi, HBO’s Head of Drama, spoke about the future of Euphoria. Orsi stated, “I wanted to give them their first week to themselves to settle in. They have beautifully.” She mentioned speaking with the show’s creator, Sam Levinson, at 6:30 am while he was on his way to the set. Orsi added, “Everyone’s so happy to be back, and I’m relieved we’re finally here.”

She further said, “We’ve talked about it. I don’t think anything is over until it’s over, but it’s been discussed that this is the end. I think you will be very satisfied with this season and how we bring each of the characters’ narratives to a close.”

Reports suggest the delay in production was due to multiple reasons, including the Hollywood strikes in 2023. The show, originally set to begin production that year, only went on floors in 2025 due to creative differences between the teams, leading to rewrites.
