Evil Dead Rise OTT release date: When, where to watch this blockbuster horror movie

Evil Dead Rise is the fifth instalment in the "Evil Dead" franchise. Written and directed by Lee Cronin, the movie has emerged as the biggest box office hit in the history of the horror franchise. Warner Bros was originally convinced that in the post-pandemic era, amid the growing popularity of streaming sites, people won't show up for cinemas for this movie. But, this movie proved that Warner Bros could be one of the biggest studios in the world but even they can't always predict the behaviour of the audience. 

Evil Dead Rise received a strong test score promoting the producers to change the direct-to-stream plan and give it a theatrical release. And the movie clicked at the box office by taking in a whopping $100 million from its worldwide ticket sales making it the biggest earner in the franchise.

Even though the movie is still playing in cinemas worldwide, it will be made availaibe for streaming on select streaming platforms. On May 12, the movie will be availaibe for streaming on Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV and Google Play. 

Evil Dead Rise is expected to follow a similar premise to the previous films in the franchise, which revolve around a group of people who inadvertently summon demonic forces from an ancient book known as the Necronomicon. Going by the trailer, the latest iteration of the classic horror tale revloves around struggles of siblings who try to get away from their mother, who is possed by the demon. The movie stars Morgan Davies, Gabrielle Echols and Nell Fisher.
