Exclusive! Advocate Achinta Aich: Saswata Chatterjee in, Anirban Chakrabarti out as Ritwick Chakraborty’s archrival

Hoichoi is all set to bring its courtroom franchise with Advovate Achinta Aich. Directed by Joydeep Mukherjee, the show features Ritwick Chakraborty as the titular character. Earlier it was reported that Anirban Chakrabarti will join Ritwick in the show as his archrival. However, according to sources, Anirban has been replaced by Saswata Chatterjee. 

There has been no communication from the team or Hoichoi. However, it was heard that the makers did not want to make Anirban a ‘negative’ character and leave his ‘Eken Babu’ image intact. As a result, now Saswata will play Ritwick’s adversary. They will counter each other in courtrooms, one fighting for justice and the other for unjust.

The story shows how Ritwick became a lawyer and in what situation he wants to leave the profession. The shooting has started. The series will also feature Debraj Bhattacharya from Ballabhpurer Roopkotha. Paran Bandyopadhyay will play Ritwick’s father.

Meanwhile, another courtroom drama Jaha Bolibo Shotto Bolibo was dropped on Hoichoi on January 5. The show which is inspired by a real-life incident features Mimi Chakraborty and Tota Roy Chowdhury. A police constable was killed while trying to protest against a case of sexual harassment on New Year’s Eve in Kolkata. The killers also turned out to be the cops. Directed by Chandrasish Roy, the web series captures this incident. This is also Mimi’s debut on OTT.
