A few days ago, Srabanti Chatterjee was seen riding horses. And now, she is busy sword fighting. All these acrobatics are for her upcoming film, Devi Chowdhurani. Directed by Subhrajit Mitra, the film also features Prosenjit Chatterjee as Bhabani Pathak, Arjun Chakrabarty, Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, and others.
For this film, Srabanti, who plays the titular role, has been going through a number of training sessions. After learning how to ride a horse, the actress is now practising sword fighting. “This is the first time I am holding a sword. It is a new thing for me and exciting. It is not easy at all. However, I love challenges,” she said.
The training is taking place at a Kolkata-based academy under Guru Prajna Dutta’s supervision. Along with Srabanti, Arjun and Bibriti are also going through rigorous training. “Bumbada (Prosenjit) is currently busy with promotions and some prior commitments. He will join us soon and we are eagerly waiting for him,” confirmed Subhrajit.
Earlier, the director announced that this film will be released in Puja next year. He made a big announcement on the eve of the 77th Independence Day. He posted two posters of the film and wrote 'Mark your calendars! The countdown begins as we set sail on an unforgettable filmmaking voyage. Principal Photography kicks off on November 15, 2023, on a three-month journey. Stay tuned for an epic tale that will leave you spellbound!' Produced by ADited Motion pictures, the film will be released during Durga Puja in 2024.
