The actor talks about Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval’s upcoming movie, which has him playing Kozhummal Rajeevan
Kunchacko Boban is on a roll lately, experimenting with his looks and pushing himself with every film as an artiste. After the acclaimed Nayattu and Pada, the actor is now shooting for Android Kunjappan Ver. 5.25 director Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval’s social satire Nna, Thaan Case Kodu.
The makers on Monday revealed the first look poster of the movie, featuring the actor in a rustic avatar, playing the character of Kozhummal Rajeevan aka Ambaas Rajeevan. In an exclusive chat with OTTplay, Kunchacko talked about his role and the film.
“Nna Thaan Case Kodu will be Ratheesh’s biggest movie till date,” he says. “It will have me in a never-seen-before appearance and I also speak a new dialect. The film is made in sync sound and so there’s no margin for error. I am very excited about the movie, especially its script.”
The actor, who is set to complete 25 years in the industry later this month, also said that Ratheesh had narrated the script to him almost two years ago, right after he completed Android Kunjappan Ver. 5.25. “So, we have been waiting to do the film since then. Now that the pandemic situation has subsided, we can shoot it as it has sequences involving huge crowds. Humour and emotions also have a lot of importance in the film, which handles a socially relevant issue,” explains the actor.
The movie, which also marks the Malayalam debut of Super Deluxe and Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom fame Gayathrie Shankar, went on floors last week. Rakesh Haridas, who had cranked the camera for Vidya Balan’s Sherni, is the cinematographer of the movie, produced by Santosh T Kuruvilla.
In an earlier interview with us, Ratheesh had said that Nna, Thaan Case Kodu is a courtroom drama and the crux of the film is Kunchacko’s character taking a small issue to the court and trying to defend his case.
