When Mannara Chopra decided to participate in Bigg Boss 17, she did not give much thought about how she’d conduct herself on the show. “I think my game inside the house was perfect the way it was and that’s how it should have been – to go without a plan. I never wanted to know anything about the other contestants before entering the house or tried watching earlier seasons of the show, although I was signed on quite early on. I could have seen episodes and then played well, but I didn’t do that because I wanted my growth on the show to be organic,” says Mannara.

The actress admits, though, that the only thing she would have done differently would have been to hire a PR agency before getting inside the house. “I would have hired a PR agency to call all my friends and well-wishers in the industry to vote for me in the final. This is the digital age, where voting matters. I should have worked on this aspect before beginning my Bigg Boss journey. I treated it as any other project and was in a fun zone. Despite that, I stayed on till the very end and feel blessed,” Mannara tells us.

Bigg Boss 17, she says, is one of the most beautiful experiences of her life, with memories that will stay for a lifetime. “The biggest learning I had on the show, which will stay with me for eternity, is the real side of people coming from different walks of life. I got a reality check on how the world functions. Prior to Bigg Boss, I was very naïve and grew up in a protected environment, under the shelter of my parents and sister, with a dignified existence revolving around studies, having a career choice, trying to make a mark in the industry, without being portrayed as a wannabe. Bigg Boss showed me a wide variety of people and changed my perspective of how the world functions,” Mannara explains.

Has spending 100-odd days with a bunch of people change her in any way? “It has; I’m an intensely emotional person, so, you realize the changes that happen to you. I’ve become more mature and aware and set certain boundaries. But you also don’t forget your upbringing; to give respect to everyone. I am acutely aware of how fellow contestants have treated me inside and outside the house, but I will not lash out at them because of that; that’s just not who I am. In my life now, Bigg Boss is done and dusted and I want people to only remember how wisely I used this platform,” Mannara signs off.
