The first look of Prabhu Jeyaram's Yennanga Sir Unga Sattam, which was unveiled by Jayam Ravi a couple of months ago, garnered the attention of movie buffs, thanks to its unique design and the 'no caste no religion' tag line on it. Its trailer which released a month ago through Arya's social media handle was lauded for a few relevant issues it addressed, including caste reservations and inequality prevailing in society.

Going by the trailer, the film touches upon the the story of a youngster who hails from a scheduled caste aspiring to become a priest. Arunkrishna Radhakrishnan handles cinematography for the movie which has music by Guna Balasubramanian.

In an earlier chat with OTTplay, the director said that the team was mulling over going the OTT way though nothing was confirmed. All of a sudden, speculation started doing the rounds on Twitter that the movie will premiere on SonyLIV on November. However, the director quashed it as a rumour.

He tells OTTplay, "It's true that the film will release on SonyLIV as per the agreement. But it will happen only after the theatrical release. For now, our priority is to release the project in movie halls. We are yet to decide on its theatrical release date, though."

Starring RS Karthik in lead role, Yennanga Sir Unga Sattam will have Rohini, Bagavathi Perumal, Super Singer fame Soundarya, Bigg Boss Tamil Season 3 fame Meera Mithun and Junior Balaiah in key roles. The movie, according to Prabu, will remind the audience of K Balachander’s yesteryear movie Oru Veedu Iru Vaasal.

The film will have 12 of its artists playing dual roles in it. The dialogue 'God accepts the one rupee we offer. Why won't the same God accept a priest from our caste' towards the end of its trailer went viral on social media and paved way to heated debates among cinephiles.
