The first season of Ishaa Saha’s Indu ends with all the questions unanswered and that is probably one of the most significant criticisms that the thriller faced from critics and viewers. After more than a year, the second season of the show was dropped on January 20 and yet it could not avoid the same criticism: Who is the culprit? Directed by Abhimanyu Mukherjee, and created by Sahana Dutta, the second season also features Chandraniv Mukherjee, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay, Manali Manisha Dey, Manasi Sinha, Payel De, Mimi Dutta, and Judhajit Sarkar, along with Ishaa.

In an exclusive chat with OTTplay, Sahana explained why she had to hold the ending back in Indu. Talking about the delay in dropping the second season, she said, “These decisions don’t depend upon me. The OTT platforms decide on the calendar. I worked on Indu 2 when Hoichoi asked me to do it.”

Clearing the air about the unfinished story even in season two, Sahana said that she needed some more episodes to culminate the story. “However, each OTT platform has its policy on the number of episodes in each season. I could not exceed eight for Indu and hence it will have a season three. All I can promise to my audience is that you don’t have to wait so long for the third season. I will talk to Hoichoi about it,” she said.

Sahana is undoubtedly one of the busiest creators in the Bengali OTT industry. Her Roktokorobi with Raima Sen and Vikram Chatterjee and Gobhir Joler Maach with Ushasi Ray, Swastika Dutta, Trina Saha, and Anyanya Sen will be dropped on Zee5, and Hoichoi in February. She is currently busy writing Gora, which will be dropped later this year.
