Tovino Thomas has long list of some exciting films coming up that includes the all-out entertainer Thallumaala, the period horror drama Neelavelicham and the anti-war movie Adrishya Jalakangal. Among these is also Jana Gana Mana director Dijo Jose Antony’s Pallichattambi, which was announced a few years ago but was put on hold due to the pandemic.

The project now is back on, says its scriptwriter S Suresh Babu in an exclusive chat with OTTplay. “We have completed the entire script of the film and it is ready to go on floors. We will decide on the dates in the coming days,” he tells us.

On the movie, which is touted to be a ‘mass’ action entertainer, Suresh Babu says, “It’s a period film set in 1957 during the time of Vimochana Samaram (Liberation Struggle) and when the communist government had just come into power. Tovino will be playing a goonda who is brought from Malabar and appointed by the church to protect its interests against the communist government.”

It's not clear when Tovino is hoping to begin shoot of the film as he is already busy with several big films. The actor, who is set to complete the shoot of Aashiq Abu’s Neelavelicham that also has Roshan Mathew, Rima Kallingal and Shine Tom Chacko, will next join the sets of Jude Anthany Joseph’s big budget, multi-starrer based on the 2018 Kerala floods. The movie also has Kunchacko Boban, Asif Ali, Tanvi Ram, Nikhila Vimal and Aparna Balamurali in pivotal roles.

After that, Tovino will be shooting for Darwin Kuriakose’s Anveshippin Kandethum, in which he will be playing a police officer. He has also signed Dr Biju’s anti-war film Adrishya Jalakangal, which has him teaming up with Nimisha Sajayan and Indrans. The actor is also expected to begin shooting for Ajayante Randam Moshanam this year.
