After Love Aaj Kal Porshu with Arjun Chakrabarty and Madhumita Sarcar, Pratim D Gupta is back in Bengal. He is all set to direct a cop thriller with Tota Roy Chowdhury and Raima Sen in the lead. In fact, according to sources, Pratim’s web series Toothpari’s lead actor Shantanu Maheshwari may also be a part of this Bengali feature film. Besides, ace actor Anirban Chakrabarti may also feature in the thriller. 

Firdausul Hasan’s Friends Communication will produce the film and it will go on the floors on September 16. Billed as a thriller, the film will reportedly revolve around cops. According to sources, Tota, Anirban, and Shantanu will play the characters of police officers. Swastika Dutta may also play a character in the film. There is a possibility of a Bangladeshi actor playing a character.   

This film will be Gangubai Kathiawadi-actor Shantanu’s first Bengali film. The ace dancer, reality show star and actor teamed up with Pratim in his Tooth Pari: When Love Bites. Besides, Shantanu, the Netflix series also features Tanya Manicktala, Tilottama Shome, Revathi, Adil Hussain, and others.

Meanwhile, after the success of Rocky Aur Rani kii Prem Kahaani, Tota Roy Chowdhury is all set to work in a feature film. The actor’s Bengali web series, Nikhoj, was dropped in August on Hoichoi. According to reports, he may also team up with Mimi Chakraborty in another web series for Hoichoi.     

On the other hand, Raima and Anirban were in London shooting for multiple films. Raima shot Parambrata Chatterjee’s Hawa Bodol 2 with Rudranil Ghosh, Anusha Viswanathan, and the director. Anirban worked with Ritwick Chakraborty and Ishaa Saha in Joydeep Mukherjee’s film.
