Prithviraj Sukumaran is busy promoting his latest Hindi film Sarzameen, but the actor-filmmaker is also in the news for his remarks on the Lucifer franchise. One particular purported statement doing the rounds is that L3 Azrael, the third part in the Lucifer franchise, will have underwater action sequences. But did Prithviraj Sukumaran actually say so? When OTTplay checked his latest interview on YouTube, these claims were found to be false, as the actor-filmmaker has not made any such comments about underwater sequences being included in part 3 of Lucifer.
L3 Azrael is the third instalment in the much popular Lucifer franchise, which is helmed by Prithviraj and stars Mohanlal in the lead role. In a recent interview with Nayandeep Rakshit, Prithviraj spoke about the Empuraan sequel. But some Malayalam channels claimed that the L3 will have underwater action sequences, wrongly attributing such a statement to Prithviraj.
However after watching the interview, it is clear that Prithviraj does not make any statements or any references to underwater sequences in his much-anticipated L3.
But the Malayalam actor-filmmaker did confirm that the film will have more antagonists. Prithviraj, who also appears as Zayed Masood in the film, also stated that Pranav Mohanlal will be portraying the younger version of Stephen Nedumpally aka Abhraam Khureshi. Pranav was also seen in a cameo in the second part. In an interesting bit of trivia, the Lucifer director also revealed that Mohanlal’s look in his debut film Manjil Virinja Pookkal, which released in 1980, was the reference for Pranav’s character in the 2025 movie.
Prithviraj’s latest film is Sarzameen, alongside Bollywood actors Kajol and Ibrahim Ali Khan, that dropped on JioHotstar and OTTplay Premium. Earlier this year, he was seen in L2 Empuraan, the much-talked-about sequel of Lucifer. Despite running into controversies, the film emerged to be a hit. Prior to that, he was seen in the fun film Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil. All these films of Prithviraj are available to stream on OTTplay Premium.
