Fans gatecrash at Anupam Roy’s show, several injured

Deganga Bookfair saw an unfortunate accident at the end of the year. Anupam Roy had his gig there. The crowd to see the musician became so large that the bookfair gate crashed and four to five people were injured. Many people entered the field breaking the barricade. Taki Road was blocked for an hour. Finally, the cultural event was called off.

The organisers said that thousands of people came to listen to his songs. The number was estimated to be thirty thousand. The organiser Tusarkanti Das said that the accident happened due to the emotional outburst of the listeners. The injured were promptly taken to the hospital. 

Winter is the season for live gigs for musicians in Bengal. The singers travel across the state to perform for audiences.
