Director Nelson Venkatesan's thriller has Aishwarya Rajesh playing the titular character
Aishwarya Rajesh's Farhana has opened to good reviews at the box office. The film, helmed by Nelson Venkatesan, revolves around the life of Farhana, who hails from a conservative family. When she takes up a job at a call centre, she finally tastes freedom, but soon she realises that danger is lurking around the corner. Aishwarya Rajesh's performance has been lauded by everyone and the film itself has got a great reception.
Suriya wished the team of Farhana and said that the film will be loved by all. Taking to his social media handle, Suriya wrote, "Wishing the best @Dreamwarriorpic and Team #Farhana led by @aishu_dil - hearing good things, may the film turn out to be loved by all @nelsonvenkat @prabhu_sr (sic)."
In the meantime, Suriya's brother, actor Karthi, who watched the film recently spoke about how technology plays havoc when it comes to relationships.
He also lauded the performance of the team and wrote on his social media handle, "The economy and the communication technology puts a lot of pressure on our relationships. #Farhana captures the entire experience intensely. Beautiful dialogues. Great performance by @aishu_dil @JithanRamesh @selvaraghavan and #Kitty sir. Congratulations @nelsonvenkat and team (sic)."
The star cast for the thriller includes Aishwarya Dutta, Jithan Ramesh, Selvaraghavan, Anumol and Kitty to name a few. Jiiva, who had watched the film at a special screening had called Farhana, a gritty film. He had also added, "I should thank Nelson for giving Ramesh (Jiiva's elder brother) such a beautiful character. In fact, all the characters are fantastic . It's a beautiful attempt by Nelson and the film would create a lot of awareness among people," he said.
We hear that SonyLIV has acquired the digital rights of the thriller and that the film will drop on OTT in the first week of June. Farhana is Aishwarya's fifth release this year after Run Baby Run, Driver Jamuna, The Great Indian Kitchen and Soppana Sundari.
