Farhana, starring Aishwarya Rajesh in the titular role, garnered decent response from moviegoers and critics when it hit screens on May 12. The Nelson Venkatesan directorial, bankrolled by Dream Warrior Pictures, stands out with its engaging screenplay, riveting performances from actors and effective music from Justin Prabhakaran.

The movie was in the news a few days before its release when a few people expressed concerns over portraying a religion in an insensitive manner. However, makers issued a release and clarified that utmost care has been taken to ensure that no sentiments have been hurt.

Post the release of Farhana, security was deployed at Aishwarya's home. However, things went fine after critics came up with favourable reviews and the controversy disappeared in no time. SonyLIV has bagged the digital rights of the project. An announcement on its OTT premiere is expected to happen after a few weeks.

Veteran actor Sivakumar has now showered praises on the movie and the team is on cloud nine. Aishwarya Rajesh took to her Twitter page to post a photo of her posing along with Sivakumar. Another picture she tweeted has her seen along with the senior actor, Nelson, Jithan Ramesh and Justin Prabhakaran among others.

Aishwarya profusely thanked Sivakumar for appreciating Farhana and said that it gave the much required strength and power to the team. She also expressed excitement over the veteran sharing positive stories from his life, leaving the team inspired.

The movie is the actress' fourth outing in 2023 after Run Baby Run, The Great Indian Kitchen and Soppana Sundari. Her next outing, Theera Kaadhal, is set for a release on May 26.
