Fauji 2: Gauahar Khan hopes Shah Rukh Khan calls her after watching the show; find out why

Gauahar Khan is a well-known name on Indian television. While the actress did several reality shows, Gauahar hadn't done an acting project on the small screen. Recently, Khan made her fiction TV debut with Fauji 2, which airs on Doordarshan. The show is said to be the spiritual sequel of Shah Rukh Khan's television show Fauji (1988). In a new interview, Gauahar said she hopes that SRK calls her after watching the show. Let's find out why...

Gauahar Khan on Fauji 2 and Shah Rukh Khan

Speaking with Hindustan Times, Gauahar admitted there is immense pressure when she thinks about Fauji's legacy. The actress loved the fact that her name was mentioned in the same line as Shah Rukh Khan when Fauji 2's buzz surfaced online. Although Gauahar hasn't worked with SRK yet, she expressed one desire.

"I really hope that after seeing the show Shah Rukh Khan feels that my performance is so good that he calls me or he tells me that I did a good job. That, for me, will be victory. I hope he should feel that he wants to meet the team, and I know that it will happen because we’re making a very heartfelt, genuine, and inspirational story," said Gauahar.

Gauahar Khan talks about acting debut on TV

In the same conversation, Gauahar spoke about making her acting debut on television. The actress revealed, "I'm just happy as if I had to debut on TV, then this is the way it should have been, because I really wanted a role where I could perform." 

Khan mentioned that she didn't want her acting debut to be treated in a way that she is taking the profession 'lightly' or doing it only for 'money'. "It needed to satisfy my brain as an actor," added Gauahar.

Fauji 2 has been produced by Sandeep Singh under his production banner Legend Studios. Ankita Lokhande's husband, Vicky Jain, made his acting debut with this show. While Gauahar plays Lieutenant Colonel Simarjeet Kaur, Vicky is seen as Colonel Sanjay Singh.
