Fauzi first look out: Prabhas-Hanu Raghavapudi film confirms title; to be period drama set in colonial India

We had earlier reported that actor Prabhas will be starring in a film directed by filmmaker Hanu Raghavapudi. The makers on Thursday, on the occasion of the actor's birthday, took to social media to share the first-look poster of the film, which is titled Fauzi.

Prabhas, who is one of the Telugu actors enjoying a pan-Indian fame, is gearing up for his next with director Hanu Raghavapudi. Titled Fauzi, the first look poster of the film was released by the makers on social media.

The first-look poster reveals half of Prabhas' face, while the other half has a British flag burning. Prabhas will be playing the titular role in the film. With the words 'A battalion who fights alone' Prabhas' Fauzi is expected to be a soldier in the film.

Fauzi poster also reveals that the film will be set in the 1940s during the colonial era in India. It is to be noted that Hanu's previous film Sita Ramam, was also a period drama, which opened to much acclaim.

A release date for the film is yet to be announced by the makers, but Fauzi will have a pan-Indian release, including languages Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi and Kannada. The film will be shot by cinematographer Sudeep Chatterjee, with music scored by Sita Ramam composer Vishal Chandrasekhar. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is the editor of Fauzi. Imanvi Ismail will be playing the female lead, opposite Prabhas in the film. Others include Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Jaya Prada, and Bhanu Chandar in key roles.

Meanwhile, Prabhas has a line-up of films, and his next release will be The Raja Saab, which will hit theatres right in time for Sankranthi in January 2026. The horror comedy fantasy is directed by Maruthi and also stars Malavika Mohanan. Apart from this, Prabhas will resume his role in the upcoming Kalki 2898 AD sequel, a film with Sandeep Reddy Vanga titled Spirit, and Salaar 2 with Prashanth Neel.
