Feminichi Fathima theatrical release date

The thought-provoking drama will have a theatrical debut on October 10. If released on the said date, it will be running in theatres along with Mathew Thomas' Night Riders, Senna Hegde's directorial Avihitham, and Indrans-starrer Private. The film is being distributed in theatres across the state by Dulquer Salmaan's Wayfarer Films, which recently backed Kalyani Priyadarshan's Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra. 

Feminichi Fathima was eagerly awaited in theatres since it was well-received by critics at major film festivals and by moviegoers nationwide. Feminichi Fathima will only be shown on a few screens, though, because three other films are scheduled to be released on the same day, and a few previous Malayalam films have been doing well in theatres.

All about Feminichi Fathima

The main character of the movie is Fathima, a young woman from the conventional community in Ponnani of Malappuram district in Kerala. She defies this society's customs and conventions in order to claim her identity and liberty. The story follows her as she negotiates the tensions between her desires for equality and the traditional obligations of her community and family.

Shamla Hamza plays the film's protagonist, Fathima, with supporting roles from Kumar Sunil, Viji Viswanath, Praseetha, Raji R, Babitha Basheer, and Fasil Muhammad. The director himself edited the movie. The music for Feminichi Fathima was composed by Shiyadh Kabir.

The film has already won numerous awards, such as the JC Daniel Foundation Award for Best Film and Best Second Actor, the Critics Award for Best Film and Best Second Actress in Kerala 2024, the IFFK FIPRESCI Award for Best International Film, the NETPAC Best Malayalam Film, and the Special Jury International Film. Additionally, it was shown at the Melbourne Film Festival and Indo-German Film Festival, garnering praise from the audiences there.
