Reportedly an IAF officer accused Fighter of being disrespectful referring to Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone locking lips in uniform.
Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter is still very much in trend and is on the big screen, attempting to touch the Rs 200 crore mark at the domestic box office. The movie, one of the most anticipated, opened to a mixed response and didn’t turn out to be a rage at the box office as expected. However, the movie made news this week for a reason that wasn’t positive, as we saw an IAF officer accuse the movie of portraying the defense force in a bad light and being disrespectful. The comments were about Hrithik and Deepika locking lips in uniform at the end of the movie. Turns out that director Siddharth Anand has decided to react to this strongly.
Director Siddharth Anand has been busy talking about Fighter in the last couple of weeks. He is now reacting to the film being accused of ill portrayal by an IAF officer. In his reaction, the filmmaker has revealed how the IAF were collaborators in making the movie and revealed how they received help from the force at each step of making the movie until the point where they also obtained a no-objection certificate from them.
Talking to Etimes, the filmmaker addressing accusations on Fighter said, “This film has gone through meticulous procedures with the IAF, right from the submission of the script, to the production planning, viewing the film before the censor saw it on the censor board, watching it again at the IAF, reviewing the film after the censor, and then giving us a physical copy of the NOC No Objection Certificate.”
He added, “After that, we got the certificate. We got the censor certificate. Then, we showed the entire film to everyone in the Air Force, including the Air Force Chief, Mr. Chaudhary, and over 100 Air Marshals from across the country. We called them and hosted a screening for them one day before the film's release in Delhi, and they gave us a standing ovation," he said.
Fighter meanwhile has managed to garner mixed reactions from the audience. while everyone agrees that the chemistry between Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone is indeed fiery, some had a problem with the screenplay of the movie. however, the film has managed to stay afloat and is still having a decent footfall.
