Directed by Shawn Seet, Five Blind Dates follows the troubled life of the female protagonist Lia (Shuang Hu) who is struggling to save her business, which is a traditional Chinese tea shop, inherited by her beloved granny and is advised by a fortune teller that the secret lies in her next five dates.

In the trailer unveiled by Prime Video in January, we witness a twenty-something woman called Lia who returns to her family home to celebrate her sister’s wedding but gets entangled in the family emotions after a forecaster reveals that her business success and love life are entwined, along with the solution in one of the next five blind dates. This leads to her family searching for the perfect suitor to put Lia’s business life and unlucky romance life both on the right track. Next follows her unique blind dates, from a player and mama’s boy to lover boy and best friend.
The cast is led by Shuang Hu as Lia, followed by supporting castmates, Ilai Swindells as best friend Mason, Tiffany Wong as sister Alice, Yoson An as Richard, Jon Prasida as Ezra, Desmond Chiam as Apollo, Renee Lim as Jing, Mel Jarnson as Rosie, Rob Collins as Curtis, and many more.
Interestingly, Five Blind Dates is not pinned on dating and love life but it also revolves around the core value of friendship and strong family relations despite the thick and thin.
