Five Nights at Freddy's OTT release date in India: When and where to watch the video game-based supernatural horror online

After four months since its theatrical run, the supernatural horror film Five Nights at Freddy's is all set to release on OTT for its subscribers in India. Based on the Five Nights at Freddy's video game, the film will have its streaming premiere on JioCinema beginning on February 27, 2024. From the mind of Blumhouse, creators of M3GAN, The Black Phone, and The Invisible Man, comes Five Nights at Freddy's, a spine-tingling adaptation of the horrifying horror game craze.

Five Nights at Freddy's synopsis and cast

Josh Hutcherson portrays Mike, who takes care of his 10-year-old sister Abby, still tormented by the unsolved disappearance of their younger brother over a decade ago. Mike, just dismissed from his job, volunteers as a night security guard at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria, a deserted theme restaurant, to maintain custody of his daughter Abby. However, Mike quickly learns that there is more going on at Freddy's than meets the eye. Elizabeth Lail portrays Vanessa, a local police officer who assists Mike as he confronts the supernatural on a terrifying journey into the heart of an unimaginable nightmare.

Matthew Lillard plays Mike's haughty career counsellor, Steve Raglan; Mary Stuart Masterson plays Mike's cold aunt Jane; and Kat Conner Sterling plays Abby's compassionate babysitter, Max. Emma Tammi helms the film Five Nights at Freddy's, while Scott Cawthon, Seth Cuddeback, and Tammi herself pen the script.

In the United States, Universal Pictures' Five Nights at Freddy's premiered in theatres and on Peacock for streaming on October 27, 2023. Despite critical condemnation, the film succeeded at the box office, earning $295 million to become Blumhouse's highest-grossing film of all time, beating Split.
