Just like Game of Thrones received more hate than love when it ended, the House of The Dragon season 2 finale seems to have suffered the same fate, at least through the netizens.

House of The Dragon season 2 has finally come to an end, and many have been complaining that it is not the end (at least the one they expected). Many netizens have been lashing out at the show on X (formerly Twitter) while making the very series trend on the internet. The reaction is a deja vu of the original show, Game of Thrones, which also received an equally cold response when it came to an end. Well, even though both the shows have mixed responses, most are disappointed by both.
House of The Dragon season 2 is mainly being bashed because the hype for the finale was huge. Almost everybody expected a fight, a full-fledged bloody war but none of that happened. HOTD 2 season finale was just a build-up to House of The Dragons season 3, and that is just not sitting well with a lot of people.
While many have been bashing House of The Dragon season 2 finale episode, some have pointed out how beautiful the visuals are. Others are excited about Jon Snow's mention, which hints that he might make a comeback as well.
Game of Thrones did not only repeat in terms of reactions, but also faces. Daenerys Targaryen made her comeback in the finale episode. Well, the disappointment around her becoming The Prince that was Promised is still there, but netizens got their closure at least. They now know that she was always destined to be on the throne, as opposed to her half-brother Jon Snow.
It is expected that House of the Dragon season 3 will commence with the much-awaited battle, The Battle of the Gullet. It is among one of the major conflicts in Fire and Blood, and season 2 has paved the way for the battle. Thus, HOTD 3 is likely to commence with the very battle. But, there might be a twist, if the makers want it. Rhaenyra and Alicent's handshake deal could mean that the battle will not be what the audiences are introduced to the next season, or at least not at the beginning. One can only wait to find out how the makers plan to take things forward.
