Gautham Ramachandran has directed the film which will release in multiple languages

A few days ago, team Gargi shared their excitement after Suriya's production house 2D Entertainment bagged the movie's theatrical rights in Tamil Nadu. The makers have now unveiled its trailer which is unusually long with a duration of more than three minutes.
Going by the trailer, the film's story revolves around a dedicated school teacher whose life turns topsy-turvy after her father gets arrested in a case which brings shame to the whole family. How she faces unexpected struggles to prove her father's innocence despite receiving insults from several quarters forms the rest of the story.
Sai Pallavi plays the role of a naïve lady who hails from Tuticorin, but lives in Chennai with her family. Earlier, there was news of the actress dubbing for her character in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. A video of the same was released by the team, after which she garnered appreciation from many movie lovers.
It looks like she's likely to earn several accolades for her performance in Gargi, which also happens to be the name of her character in the project. Gautham Ramachandran has directed the film and has bankrolled it along with Ravichandran Ramachandran, Thomas George and Aishwarya Lekshmi.
Sraiyanti and Premkrishna Akkatu have cranked the camera for the film which has music composed by Govind Vasantha while Karthick Netha has penned lyrics for songs. Shafique Mohamed Ali and Jacki have handled editing and art direction respectively for Gargi.
Kaali Venkat, Aishwarya Lekshmi, RS Shivaji, Kalaimaamani Saravanan and Jayaprakash among others will be seen essaying crucial characters in the movie which is slated for a theatrical release on July 15. Gargi will be Pallavi's theatrical release in Tamil after a three-year hiatus. Her last outing in Kollywood was Suriya-Selvaraghavan's NGK.
