Garudan: It's a wrap for the Suresh Gopi and Biju Menon action thriller

The filming of the action thriller Garudan helmed by debutant Arun Varma, starring Suresh Gopi and Biu Menon has been concluded. The script was written by M Jinesh and  Anjaam Pathiraa director Midhun Manuel Thomas.

Suresh Gopi and Biju Menon previously shared the screen in films like FIR, Randam Bhavam, and Pathram. It looks like the duo will be portraying two intense characters in Garudan. The teaser of the movie was released on the birthday of Suresh Gopi in which he was seen fighting some people with a helmet. Garudan's posters and first looks feature Suresh Gopi in a stylish avatar for the first time after his comeback to cinema from politics.

In an exclusive chat with OTTplay, Garudan's director said that the film is a mix of investigative and courtroom drama with the required commercial elements. He also said that the characters of Biju Menon and Suresh Gopi are not larger than life, but raw and rooted.

The film also features Jagadeesh, Dileesh Pothan, Nishanth Sagar, Malavika, and Major Ravi in prominent roles. Abhirami, who made her debut 24 years ago in the Suresh Gopi film Pathram, will be co-starring with him once again in Garudan. Divya Pillai known for Kala is another female lead in the film which also has Siddique in a pivotal role.

Jakes Bejoy who composed the song, Kalapakkaara in Dulquer Salmaan's King of Kotha will handle the music department in Garudan. Ajay David Kachappilly, who lensed Suresh Gopi's previous film Paappan, will handle the cinematography while Sreejith Sarang does the editing. Stephy Zaviour who recently helmed the box office hit Madhura Manohara Moham will do the costumes for Garudan. The film is bankrolled by Listin Stephen under the banner of Magic Frames.

Midhun Manuel Thomas, the scriptwriter of Garudan, is currently filming his directorial debut, Abraham Ozler, which stars Jayaram and features a cameo appearance by Mammootty. He has also written the script for the upcoming horror thriller, Phoenix, starring Aju Varghese and Anoop Menon.

Meanwhile, Suresh Gopi is currently shooting JSK (Janaki v State of Kerala) in which he will appear as a lawyer.
