Earlier this year, Vishnu Vishal surprised movie buffs by announcing that he will be bankrolling a bilingual project along with Tollywood star Ravi Teja under the direction of Chella Ayyavu. The film was titled Gatta Kusthi in Tamil and Matti Kusthi in Telugu. The movie is said to be based on a popular traditional wrestling form in Kerala.

Aishwarya Lekshmi was roped in to play the female lead in the film which has Vishnu essaying dual roles in it. The makers had announced a couple of days ago that the first look of the project will be unveiled on November 2.

Dhanush revealed its first look featuring Vishnu as a dedicated wrestler seen in a toned physique. The former said that it is always a pleasure to see the latter in sports-based films. It looks like the second character played by Vishnu has been kept as a surprise by the team. Richard M Nathan is cranking the camera while Justin Prabhakaran has scored music for the movie.

National Award winning stunt choreographer duo Anbariv, known for their works in projects like Vikram and KGF, is handling action sequences. Prasanna GK and Umesh J Kumar are in charge of editing and art direction respectively.

The movie is expected to have a theatrical release soon. An excited Vishnu took to Twitter to post, "Let's fight it out on the ground. Here is the first look of #GattaKusthi #MattiKusthi, my biggest film till date! Excited to bring it to theatres (sic)." The team had revealed a motion poster and a promo video a few months ago.

Vishnu, who was last seen in FIR which was released earlier this year, has the much-awaited Mohandas, too, in his kitty.
