Gautham Menon’s Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha completes censor formalities; receives THIS certificate

Director Gautham Vasudev Menon's long-awaited film Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha is all set to hit theatres on March 1. The makers recently revealed that the film has been given a U/A certificate by the Censor Board. The film stars Varun in the lead role.

Backed by Ishari Ganesh under Vels Film International banner, Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha is a racy action drama. The makers had recently released the trailer of the film.

Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha completes censor formalities

Filmmaker Gautham Menon, who last helmed the 2022 action-drama Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu Part 1: The Kindling is back to the director’s chair with the upcoming project titled Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha. Vels Film International banner has backed both the films.

The film stars Varun, who has previously appeared in films like Comali, Bogan, Seeru, in the lead role. He also appeared in the fifth season of Tamil reality TV show Bigg Boss and sustained for 84 days. On Monday, the makers of the film announced that it has completed censor formalities. The film received U/A certificate, ahead of its release on March 1.

About Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha

The upcoming film will feature actor Raahei as the female lead while Krishna will be taking up the antagonist's role. Actors Yogi Babu, Mansoor Ali Khan, Vichithra and Dhivyadharshini are also part of the cast. In Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha, Varun will be playing a hitman. The film’s plot revolves around the protagonist who takes up the responsibility of saving a girl who is being chased by several gangsters. It is expected to have high-octane action sequences.

The music for the film has been scored by singer Karthik who has turned into a composer. The technical crew also consists of cinematography by SR Kathir and editing by Anthony. The film has been in the can for quite some time now. Joshua: Imai Pol Kaakha was expected to release in 2020, but faced several hurdles and got delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a recent press release, Gautham made an interesting revelation that the film could exist in the same film universe as that of Vikram-starrer Dhruva Natchathiram, which has been postponed indefinitely. The filmmaker hinted that there will be a connection between his two films, which the audience will get to know after seeing Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha.
