Movie buffs were excited when a poster of a film starring Gautham Menon was released on Wednesday. The film, according to the poster, has been directed by A Vinoth Kumar and titled Anbu Selvan. It has a fierce looking Gautham wielding a gun. Interestingly, Anbu Selvan is the iconic character played by Suriya in the filmmaker's second directorial project, Kaakha Kaakha, which released in 2003.
However, all the excitement of film lovers faded away when Gautham himself took to Twitter to announce that he is unaware of the project, and that he is shocked to the core. His reaction was to the tweet posted by Pa Ranjith who unveiled the first look of Anbu Selvan.
Sharing the first look, Ranjith tweeted, "Can't wait to watch the action packed spell of @menongautham." Gautham said that he has no idea about the movie in which he is supposed to be acting in and added that he is clueless about the director whose name is there on the project's poster.
What made him shocked beyond words is the fact that the makers have got someone like Ranjith to tweet about the film. An angry Gautham posted, "Producer has got big names to tweet this. It’s shocking & scary that something like this can be done so easily."
As soon as Gautham's tweet started going viral, Ranjith deleted his tweet which unveiled the project's first look poster. Gautham, who last directed Guitar Kambi Mele Nindru for Netflix's Navarasa, is currently busy with Silambarasan's Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu. The movie marks the third collaboration of Gautham and Silambarasan after Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada.
