The makers of Malayalam upcoming film Abhirami have confirmed that it will hit the big screen on June 7. Gayathri Suresh and Harikrishnan are playing the lead roles in this film. The teaser of the film was released today (May 23).
Sreekanth Murali, Roshan Basheer, Naveen Illath, Ameya Mathew, Sahithya Raj, Tehneena, Vyshnavi Vinayan and Sarah Cyriac are among the supporting cast of the movie. Debutante Mushthaq Rahman has directed this film, which is bankrolled by Madhu Karuvath, Santhosh Radhakrishnan, Shabeek Thayyil under the banners of MJS Media, Spectac Movies and Copernicus Productions.
The protagonist of the film is Abhirami, a young woman who works as a nurse in Dubai. She uses social media sites frequently and goes viral following a post in which she records a video with a well-known scientist who had been leading a reclusive life. She is hired for a year by a PR firm following the incident, and she takes pleasure in her unexpected rise to fame.
She gradually realises that she is enmeshed in the company's web and has lost her individuality. She is unable to make decisions for herself without the company's approval. She also experiences severe personal losses. Her prospective spouse grows estranged from her. The main plot point of the movie is how she eventually breaks the chain and enters the real world after leaving the virtual one.
On June 7, Malayalam will be released in multiple theatres after some May movies, including Mammootty's Turbo, had their theatrical run. On the same day that Abhirami will be released, Little Hearts, starring Mahima Nambiar and Shane Nigam in the lead roles, and Golam, an investigative thriller starring Dileesh Pothan, will debut in theatres.
The comedy drama Grrr, starring Kunchacko Boban and Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Soubin Shahir's Machante Malakha will hit theatres on June 14. The same day, Balu Varghese's romantic drama 1 Princess Street will also be released in theatres.
