Anjali, who only had a single release this year - the Malayalam drama Iratta - will be seen in several high profile films in 2024. While the actress plays a key role in Vishwak Sen’s action drama Gangs of Godavari, she is simultaneously shooting for Shankar-Ram Charan’s political drama Game Changer and the horror comedy Geethanjali Malli Vachindhi, the sequel to her hit Geethanjali.

While Gangs of Godavari was to release in December this year, reports suggest that the makers are now aiming for a March 2024 release. Meanwhile, Geethanjali Malli Vachindhi, directed by Siva Thurlapati, is also progressing at a brisk pace. Kona Venkat has written the story, screenplay for the film that brings together most lead actors from the original - Srinivas Reddy, Satyam Rajesh and Shakalaka Shankar.

Today, the team behind the sequel confirmed that the film will release simultaneously in four languages - Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam in early 2024. “Fear is on the fast track as #GeethanjaliMalliVachindhi is zooming through production, promising a sequel that's set to leave you breathless. Coming soon to thrill you in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam in early 2024,” the makers wrote.

The production house, Kona Film Corporation, shared a few images from the sets of the sequel, where Anjali is in conversation with the director, Kona Venkat and other crew members. Satyam Rajesh can also be seen in the stills. Geethanjali Malli Vachindhi is all the more special for Anjali - it’s the 50th film in her career and brings her back in an avatar that audiences truly appreciated last time around.

MVV Satyanarayana and GV are jointly producing the film while Sujatha Siddartha is the cinematographer. Pravin Lakkaraju scores the music and Chota K Prasad is the editor. The crew also comprises art director Narni Srinivas, executive producer Nagu Y. Bhanu Bhogavarapu is co-writing the screenplay with Kona Venkat and is also one of the lyricists (apart from Nandu Savarigana).
