Before its June 2025 release, the film Sitaare Zameen Par by Aamir Khan Productions has already garnered a lot of attention. The new film, which stars Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh (Urumi, Mere Baap Pehle Aap, Mr. Medhavi), is being marketed as a spiritual sequel to the 2007 drama Taare Zameen Par. It signifies a return to the banner's focus on emotionally charged storytelling.
Khan stars as a feisty basketball coach who has to deal with the legal ramifications of his antics in the just-released trailer. He is sentenced to coach a team of children with special needs as a kind of punishment, which sets the stage for a moving and ultimately redeeming story. Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, and Simran Mangeshkar are among the ten debutants who make their debut in the film.
Deshmukh discussed her reunion with Khan and his production firm after more than ten years, in which she plays his romantic interest. Aamir Khan Productions' Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na was Genelia's breakthrough in Hindi cinema, and the two had previously collaborated on the film.

Sitaare Zameen Par was written by Divy Nidhi Sharma and directed by R. S. Prasanna. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy composed the score for the film, while Amitabh Bhattacharya penned the lyrics. Aamir Khan, Aparna Purohit, and Ravi Bhagchandka are all involved in its production.
