Ghaati postponed again: Anushka Shetty's film will not release on July 11, 2025, here's why?

Ghaati is Anushka Shetty's new film, which was initially scheduled to hit screens in May 2025 but was postponed due to unforeseen issues. After a brief delay, the makers finalised July 11, 2025, as the new release date. However, as per the latest update, the film has been postponed yet again.

Anushka Shetty disappoints her fans yet again

Speculation began when the makers did not kickstart promotions, even as the release date drew closer. We at OTTplay have learned that the film has indeed been pushed back, primarily due to pending CG work. Ghaati has been extensively shot using green screen technology and requires significant VFX work, which is still incomplete.

Since post-production had not been wrapped up, the makers had no choice but to delay the release. Anushka Shetty plays the female lead, alongside Tamil actor Vikram Prabhu. The film, directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, has been mounted on a massive scale.

Ghaati makers in search of a new release date

The new release date has not yet been announced, but sources indicate the film will likely hit theaters in August 2025. Ghaati marks Anushka Shetty’s return to the big screen after a two-year hiatus. Her last film, Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty, was a box-office smash, and fans have been eagerly waiting to see her in a new avatar.

Unfortunately, with this delay, the excitement takes a temporary hit. Director Krish, known for his hard-hitting dramas, is also in the news for Hari Hara Veera Mallu, which he partly directed and is scheduled to release on July 24, 2025. He was set for back-to-back releases, but now, with Ghaati postponed, it remains to be seen what strategy he adopts in the coming days. Amazon Prime Video has bagged the OTT rights to the film.
