One of the most awaited ‘teasers’, the special video Big Daddy by the team of director MG Srinivas’ Ghost, on the occasion of leading man Century Star Shivarajkumar’s birthday, dropped moments. A brief glimpse of the ‘OG’, Big Daddy introduces us to the original gangster, as a group of gun-totting men come after him. The big reveal, apart from the fact that amid all the guns, all that big daddy needs to do is ‘scare them with a look’, is that Ghost will be in theatres this Dasara. As of now, Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B is the only other Kannada film that has confirmed a late October release and now, Ghost joins the race.

Earlier this week, during a Twitter space conversation with fans, Srinivas spoke at length about the release plans of the film, during which he’d explained that Ghost will be out in two parts and that he’s connecting the film with his Birbal series to create a Srinivas Cinematic Universe. The plan, he’d said, is to make a series of films for the next 15 minutes. Srinivas added that as a team they’ve decided to focus on bringing the Kannada, Tamil and Telugu versions of the Ghost to theatres, with the Hindi and Malayalam versions on the backburner for now and to be considered only depending on demand for the same.

As for the overseas plan, Srinivas reiterated that it will be based on audience requirement. “Releasing a film in other countries depends on the audience requirement in those places, whether it is the USA, Europe, Japan, etc., Let’s say, we begin with four shows in the US. If the demand for the film is far more, we will add another four shows and that will be the strategy followed everywhere. Currently we are focusing on US, UK, Europe and Australia, but if there is sufficient demand from any other region, we will attend to that as well,” he said.
