Ana de Armas will be replacing Scarlett Johansson in the upcoming Apple Original film Ghosted. The changes in the cast of the action-adventure movie are due to the troubles in date schedules of Johansson. The intention to begin the shoot in February did not fit in with Johansson’s schedule, due to which she is said to have departed the project.
Chris Evans will be featured opposite Armas, who has already co-starred with her in Knives Out, and who will also serve as the producer of the movie. Developed by David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger, the movie is co-produced by Armas and written by Rhett Reese. The movie is backed under the banner of Skydance.
Armas impressed the crew with her previous projects like No Time To Die and Knives Out, which made Ellison choose her as Johansson’s replacement. She has also played along with Evans and Ryan Gosling in the Joe and Anthony Russo directorial The Gray Man. Also, she is being considered to play the lead role in the forthcoming John Wick spinoff Ballerina.
Armas being on the board has made the expectation towards the movie go high as the duo has given great success last time they appeared together on screen. The possibility of major success is expected by the crew as well.
Meanwhile, Skydance has backed a few recent hits recently, including Chris Patt starrer The Tomorrow War and the Michael B Jordan starrer Without Remorse. It has also tapped Victoria Mahoney for the Netflix film The Old Guard 2.
