The team of Pathu Thala had earlier announced that they will come up with an update on the movie on Silambarasan's birthday, on February 3. They released a 37-seconds video which offers a sneak peek into the appearance and character the actor plays in the action flick. He is seen playing AGR, a powerful mafia don, who is also the saviour of the poor and the underprivileged.

Sporting a black shirt and a black dhoti, the video has various shots of Silambarasan in close-ups and long shots. He is stylishly presented in the video which has him stepping out of a helicopter, a chase sequence involving cars and gun firing. Effective, stylish visuals and background score are highlights of the video, apart from Silambarasan's screen presence.

Pathu Thala, directed by Sillunu Oru Kadhal fame Obeli N Krishna, is the remake of Sandalwod flick, Mufti, starring Shiva Rajkumar and Sri Murali in lead roles. Silambarasan and Gautham Karthik will be seen essaying their characters respectively in the Tamil version.

AR Rahman has come on board as the music director for the project which has Gautham Menon, Kalaiyarasan, Priya Bhavani Shankar and Teejay Arunasalam playing key characters in it. Jayantilal Gada and KE Gnanavelraja have produced the movie under the banners Studio Green and Pen Studios.

Farook J Basha has handled cinematography for Pathu Thala, while Praveen KL has edited the movie. RS Ramakrishnan and R Sakthi Saravanan have handled the film's dialogues and stunt choreography respectively.

The team of Gautham Menon's Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, too, came up with a new poster on the occasion of Silambarasan's birthday. The action drama, which also has AR Rahman as its composer, is expected to hit the screens on April.
