The list includes names of popular movies of 2023 namely Oppenheimer, Barbie, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and others. This evening, the Golden Globes nominated Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse under the ‘Best Motion Picture – Animated' category. Not only this, but this animated movie also got a nomination under the ‘Cinematic and Box Office Achievement’ category. Further, musician Daniel Pemberton was nominated under the film's ‘Best Original Score’ category.

While Spider-Man lovers are elated to know about the news, here is how it has a connection with India. Notably, Indian cricketer Shubman Gill lent his voice to the character Pavitr Prabhakar in the Hindi and Punjabi versions of the animated film. For the unfamiliar, Spider-Man was given the name Pavitr to attract Indian audiences to the theatres.

Speaking about his debut in Indian cinema, Shubman told The Hindu why he chose to be a part of the film. “You have to ask the makers why they chose me to voice the character. But they told me I was the first name that came to their mind,” he said adding, “I was excited when this opportunity came about. I knew it was going to be challenging because I’d never dubbed for a film. That was all the more reason for me to do it.”

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse can be viewed anytime on Netflix.
