Goodachari 2 - Adivi Sesh begins filming for the thriller at a five-floor glass set in Hyderabad

After scoring two hits in 2022 - Major (a Hindi-Telugu bilingual) and Hit 2 (sequel to Sailesh Kolanu’s crime thriller), Adivi Sesh is naturally being picky about his choices, treading the ‘slow and steady’ route with his upcoming films. While he announced the sequel to Goodachari 2 with a grand press meet in Mumbai earlier this year, the star has finally kickstarted the shoot of the thriller.

Goodachari 2, jointly produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Abhishek Agarwal under People Media Factory, Abhishek Agarwal Arts in collaboration with AK Entertainments, marks the directorial debut of Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi. The latter had worked as an editor for Sesh’s Major in the past. Banita Sandhu forays into Telugu cinema with the thriller which has commenced filming today.

Confirming the news over a tweet, Adivi Sesh wrote ‘MASSIVE. This is how we do it. #G2 #Goodachari2.’ After filming for a scene today, the actor, sporting a beard, looking dapper in a suit, further added, “Suited up. Loved shooting for this scene.” A lavish floor set was erected for Goodachari 2 in Hyderabad. The sequel focuses on a spy who fights for his nation while confronting enemies outside India.

Sources suggest that Goodachari 2 will be the costliest film in Sesh’s career and will have a release in multiple languages in the second half of 2024. Kodati Pavan Kalyan has come on board as the editor while Sricharan Pakala, Sesh’s frequent collaborator, composes the music. Other cast and crew of the spy thriller will be confirmed shortly.

For the unversed, the film’s first part Goodachari was directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka (who also directed Major), with Sobhita Dhulipala playing the female lead. Prakash Raj, Vennela Kishore, Supriya Yarlagadda, Anish Kuruvilla, Madhu Shalini and Rakesh Varre were also part of the film. The thriller, which released in 2018, can be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
