Ram Charan's Game Changer went out of control – Dil Raju’s explosive revelation

Dil Raju is one of the top producers in Telugu cinema and has made over 55 films in his career. But he suffered a major blow and lost close to Rs 100 crore with Ram Charan's Game Changer, which was directed by Shankar. He is now ready with his latest film, Thammudu, which is up for release on July 4, 2025.

Dil Raju on Game Changer debacle

During one of the promotional interviews, Dil Raju was asked about Game Changer's failure. The ace producer did not shy away and stated that greenlighting the project without a proper plan was his biggest mistake. 

"When the film was okayed with Shankar, I should have readied a contract with the director about a few terms and conditions about the film, its shoot, and other aspects, which I did not. After a point, things went out of my hands, and there was nothing I could do. I learned the hard way and will be careful in the future," said Dil Raju.

Game Changer was in the making for over three years, and the shoot was stuck as Shankar gave much time to directing Indian 2 with Kamal Haasan. Dil Raju says that setting up a big project with a star director is not difficult, but taking ownership and getting the final output is the most important responsibility of the producer.

"Game Changer was a costly mistake, and I take full responsibility and should have taken things under control. But it did not happen, and after a point, I knew things were going haywire and there was no returning," ended Dil Raju.

Dil Raju's next biggie is Nithiin's Thammudu

Game Changer was the first-ever film that Dil Raju produced with a star director like Shankar. Dil Raju is known to make small films with strong content, but things did not work out for him with the Ram Charan film. 

Even Thammudu, his new film, has been in the making for over two years now and has Nithiin as the main lead. Dil Raju is quite confident that he will make a comeback with this film as the content of Thammudu is quite strong.
