Sithara Entertainments (another wing of Haarika and Hassine Creations that produced Ala Vaikuntapurramuloo), one of the leading production houses in Telugu cinema, had three releases this year - Butta Bomma, MAD and Aadikeshava. While only MAD could taste success at the box office, they’ll have two releases in January and February 2024 - Guntur Kaaram and Tillu Square.

While the banner’s VD12, a collaboration with Gowtam Tinnanuri and Vijay Deverakonda is expected to go on floors shortly, they’ve announced a new project with Jathi Ratnalu director KV Anudeep. The news was confirmed by the production house through a social media post, wishing the filmmaker on his birthday (today). The film is tentatively titled Production No 26.

For those curious, Production No 26 brings together Anudeep and Eagle star Ravi Teja for the first time. The filmmaker had pitched the script to the ‘Mass Maharaja’ a few months ago and the project is set to be launched in style soon. Reports suggest that composer Bheems Ceciroleo, who worked on Ravi Teja’s Bengal Tiger and the hit Dhamaka, has already come on board for the film.

With Anudeep’s unique sense of verbal humour and Ravi Teja’s terrific on-screen timing, one can expect an out and out entertainer from the duo. The details surrounding female lead and the crew of the film will be officially confirmed soon. While Ravi Teja had three releases this year, Anudeep last directed Siva Karthikeyan in the screwball comedy Prince, which received mixed responses.

Ravi Teja will also be shooting for Mr Bachchan, the Telugu remake of Raid, directed by Harish Shankar, early next year. Meanwhile, the star’s hit-comedy Venky, directed by Sreenu Vaitla, is re-releasing in theatres on December 30. Sneha played the female lead in the film that also starred Srinivas Reddy, Brahmanandam, AVS, Chitram Sreenu, Ashutosh Rana and others.
