The creators of 2023 Tamil romantic drama Joe, have begun shooting for their next film titled Haiku. The makers have also announced that the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film have been secured by Netflix. It stars Aegan in the lead role.
Haiku is an upcoming Tamil film which is currently under production. Starring actor Aegan, the makers on Sunday revealed Netflix has bagged the OTT rights of the film.
The shooting of Haiku commenced on Sunday with a formal pooja. Celebrated filmmaker Ram, acclaimed for works like Peranbu and Taramani, gave the inaugural clap and extended his best wishes to the team, marking an auspicious beginning. Haiku is directed by Yuvaraj Chinnasamy and features additional screenplay by Hari Haran Ram, who previously directed Joe. Haiku is billed to be a romantic drama with entertainer values.
The technical crew of the film includes Priyesh Guru Swamy cranking the camera, Sakthi Pranesh as editor, and Vijai Bulganin scoring the music. The cast of Haiku is led by Aegan who had starred in Joe and Kozhi Pannai Chella Durai, Femina George (who was seen in Minnal Murali, Sesham Mike-il Fathima) and Sridevi Apalla. With the release date yet to be announced by the makers, further updates on progress and release are expected to be rolled out soon. Haiku will hit theatres in September.

There will be multiple releases on OTT this week, with the major Tamil film dropping on ZEE5 via OTTplay Premium. Parasakthi, starring Sivakarthikeyan, will premiere on February 7. Directed by Sudha Kongara, the period political drama also stars Ravi Mohan, Sreeleela, Atharvaa and others. Along with Parasakthi, Telugu films like The Raja Saab starring Prabhas, will come out on JioHotstar and OTTplay Premium on February 6, and Naari Naari Naduma Murari on Prime Video on February 4.
