Horror fans, get ready to scream your hearts out as the masked maniac Michael Myers is all set to make a comeback, blades swinging. Halloween Kills, the latest instalment in the Halloween saga, is all set to make its premiere at this year’s Venice International Film Festival tomorrow and will be released in US theatres on October 15. In celebration of the horrors to come, the film’s leading lady, Jamie Lee Curtis took to Instagram to share a jolly photograph from the film sets.

The black and white photograph shows a bloodied and dishevelled Jamie Lee Curtis sharing a laugh with her co-stars Judy Greer and Andi Matichak, all of whom will be reprising their roles in the upcoming sequel to 2018’s Halloween. In the caption, Curtis makes mention of the impending release of the film, calling it a ‘masterwork of brutality and beauty'. The designated scream queen also pens a tribute to her co-stars in the picture, lamenting how she will miss their presence at the Venice Film Festival and calls the three of them a trio of strong women.

Halloween Kills follows the story of the deranged serial killer Michael Myers as his murderous rampage resumes, and he continues to stalk his favourite victim Laurie Strode, played by Jamie Lee Curtis. The film will pick up where its predecessor left off after the Strode family traps their aggressor in a burning house and manages to escape by the skin of their teeth.

The Halloween franchise has gained a cult status in the slasher horror genre, right from the very first film in 1978 which marked the debut and breakthrough of Jamie Lee Curtis’ film career. The most recent film in the series is written and directed by David Gordon Green.
