Hansal Mehta first collaborated with Kareena Kapoor Khan in his latest feature film, The Buckingham Murders (2024). The filmmaker's next project is a debut collaboration with Saif Ali Khan, who happens to be Kareena's husband as well.

During an interaction with Mid Day, Mehta said that a film is being developed by Saif and him and he is directing it. He said that the film is based on a novel while he was in Chandigarh for the Cinevesture International Film Festival.
The filmmaker has wanted to work with Khan for some time because of his impressive ability to gracefully transition between mainstream, middle-of-the-road, and digital shows. Kareena, on the other hand, holds the highest position. As he expresses his desire for another adventure with the diva, Mehta's affection for her becomes clear. He is really plotting one right now.
