After making her Tamil OTT debut MY3 this year, Hansika is returning to Telugu cinema with a crime thriller My Name is Shruthi. The thriller marks the directorial debut of Srinivas Omkar and is produced by Ramya Prabhakar. While the film’s shoot was wrapped up long ago, it is finally hitting screens on November 17. At the trailer launch event, Hansika spoke about the film.
“I am very happy that My Name is Shruthi is finally releasing. It is a great subject, a thriller and something very close to my heart. Director Srinivas Omkar has worked hard on the film, the script has been there with him for a long time. Vaishnavi Arts is coming up with its first production, the producer has been extremely generous,” she stated.
The actress requested audiences to watch the film in theatres November 17. “I really thank everyone who’ve been showering so much love upon me all these years,” Hansika added. The film is a 130-minute narrative packed with several twists and turns. While the director initially wanted an ending that would lead to the second part, the cinematographer advised against the idea.
Director Srinivas Omkar thanked his technicians for understanding the complex script. He appreciated Hansika’s dedication towards work despite working in over 50 films. He reportedly gave a narration at her Mumbai residence. “I told her it would have a back-and-forth screenplay. All through the shoot, she was a thorough professional, extremely proactive and gave us timely advice.”
The filmmaker said that the movie will have a surprise interval twist and the entire second will unfold like a climax. Prema, Murali Sharma, Pooja Ramachandran, Raja Ravindra, Praveen, Aadukalam Naren play other pivotal roles in the film. Mark K Robin scored the music for the film, the crew also comprises art director Govind Erasani, cinematographer Kishore Boyidapu, editor Chota K Prasad.
