HanuMan Telugu out on OTT: Here's where to watch the original version

HanuMan, the Telugu blockbuster , has finally made its debut on streaming platforms. The film is now available for streaming on ZEE5. Its much-awaited digital premiere came as a surprise, without any prior information.

The Telugu version arrived on OTT a day after the Hindi version made its streaming debut on JioCinema.

HanuMan Telugu version hits OTT

Earlier, director Prasanth Varma issued a statement urging audiences to remain patient as he worked to resolve challenges delaying the movie's digital release.

"#HanuMan OTT streaming delay was not intentional! We have been working tirelessly round the clock to sort things and bring the film to you asap! Our intention is always to give you nothing but the best! Please try to understand and continue supporting us! Thank you!," tweeted Prasanth Varma.

Meanwhile, the film's other versions, including Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam, are yet to find a home on streaming platforms. It remains to be seen whether all versions will eventually be released on ZEE5 or distributed among other OTT platforms.

Rarely do we see South Indian versions of new movies finding multiple streaming partners. It's worth noting that in South Indian states, audiences are accustomed to watching movies in their original languages, even if they differ from their mother tongue. So, it doesn't make much sense to give each of the South Indian versions a separate release.

HanuMan's phenomenal theatrical journey

HanuMan benefited from an extended theatrical run. Amid the current industry practices, where new South Indian films become available for streaming just after a four-week theatrical run, HaunMan enjoyed about eight weeks of uninterrupted screenings in cinemas.

HanuMan extended the expectations by raking in more than Rs 300 crore from its worldwide box office collections, making it the first biggest Telugu hit of the year.

Starring Teja Sajja and Amritha Aiyer in the lead roles, HanuMan is inspired by stories of Indian mythology. The film tells the tale of an average Joe in a fictional hamlet, who comes into possession of an ancient gemstone that grants him the powers of Lord HanuMan himself.
