Jayam Ravi with Nayanthara; Harris Jayaraj
The shooting of Jayam Ravi-starrer Jana Gana Mana, a spy thriller which began in 2019, is yet to complete, thanks to the pandemic-led restrictions which made the production haywire. The ambitious movie which has Ahmed at its helm was supposed to be shot in different countries in Asia. The makers have put the project on hold for a while.
Meanwhile, both Ahmed and Ravi agreed to collaborate on another project. The movie which has been tentatively titled Iraivan is said to be an action-packed entertainer. Nayanthara, who was last seen along with Ravi in Thani Oruvan, has been roped in to play the female lead in the project.
Though Yuvan Shankar Raja was said to be composing music for the film, we now hear that Harris Jayaraj has been brought on board. The latter had earlier worked with Ahmed for Endrendrum Punnagai which had some beautiful romantic songs.
Iraivan, too, is expected to have a few songs as the movie has romance as one of its important aspects despite its serious genre. The songs are said to be on the lines of those from Kamal Haasan, Gautham Menon's Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. The team which wrapped up a crucial schedule recently in Pondicherry is set to begin the next schedule soon.
According to a report in TOI, Nayanthara is yet to join the crew; the actress is likely to be part of the shooting from this weekend. Last seen in O2, which had a direct release on Disney+ Hotstar, Nayan has Connect coming up next in Tamil. She also has a film each in Malayalam and Telugu apart from her Hindi debut with Shah Rukh Khan.
Jayam Ravi, on the other hand, has Agilan releasing on September 15. The much-awaited Ponniyin Selvan will arrive in theatres a couple of weeks later, on September 30.
