Heartbreak High Season 2 will see a few new faces and a whole new brand of wacko teenage high school drama. Set in Australia, their alma mater, Hartley High, is the lowest-ranking school for good reason. In a school where chlamydia, threesomes, and hook-up wall maps go viral, heartbreaks and mandatory sex education classes are bound to follow.

Release date and OTT platform of Heartbreak High Season 2

Created by Hannah Carroll Chapman for Netflix, Heartbreak High was based on the 1994 series of the same name that first aired on Network Ten. While the first season debuted on September 14, 2022, after a long wait, the second season is finally around the corner. Heartbreak High Season 2 will be released on Netflix on April 11, 2024.

Returning cast and new faces of Heartbreak High Season 2

Season 2 of Heartbreak High will see the return of many familiar faces, along with a few fresh ones. Ayesha Madon (Amerie), Asher Yasbincek (Harper), James Majoos (Darren), Chloé Hayden (Quinni), Thomas Weatherall (Malakai), Will McDonald (Ca$h), Gemma Chua-Tran (Sasha), Bryn Chapman Parish (Spider), Sherry-Lee Watson (Missy), Brodie Townsend (Ant), and Josh Heuston (Dusty).

Heartbreak High Season 2 is nothing without the faculty and students, and we see three new additions. Angus Sampson joins the teaching faculty as Timothy Voss, the new Head of P.E, an uber-masculine and strict sports teacher. Sam Rechner will play Rowan Callaghan, an unassuming country lad with a passion for classic films and dry humour.

He will be at the centre of Hartley High drama and a love triangle. Kartanya Maynard will complete the team as Zoe Clarke, a stubborn celibacy advocate who will disrupt the SLT classes with her gang of Puriteens from within.

What to expect in Season 2 of Heartbreak High

Heartbreak High’s second season will be a highly promising one, as viewers will finally get to see the sweet and sour bond of besties Amerie and Harper firsthand, instead of through flashbacks only. It is expected that the two will plot further revenge on Chook for abducting and nearly sexually violating her after burning his car.

While Malakai and Amerie are no longer together, their longing looks and the sparks from their chemistry hint at unfinished business, while new faces pose further rivalry to their romance. The viewers also hope to see Ca$h and Darren’s romance bloom after their bittersweet, adorable encounter in the season 1 finale of Heartbreak High.
