This week, Tamil films will be seeing the release of three romantic comedies, Pon Ondru Kanden, DeAr, and Romeo. While all three of them have different set of premises, they deal with how couples who get together navigate through their romance. As we wait for their releases, it is to be noted that romantic comedies have been an evergreen genre, which can keep its audience engaged. Engeyum Kadhal - SunNEXT

Directed by Prabhudheva, the musical romantic comedy features Jayam Ravi and Hansika Motwani. The film is set against the backdrop of France, and revolves around a girl who falls in love with an Indian boy who is deemed to be a player. Harris Jayaraj's score and songs add a plus point to the film.

Thiruchitrambalam is directed by Mithran Jawahar and stars Dhanush in the titular role. Thiruchitrambalam lives with his father and grandfather, and has a best friend, played by Nithya Menen. However, his love life is nothing boastful as he is turned down by two women. The film also stars Prakash Raj, Raashii Khanna, Bharathiraja, and others.

Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi – Prime Video

Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi is a romantic comedy film directed by Balaji Mohan and is based on the short film of the same name by the director. The feature film is headlined by Siddharth and Amala Paul. The film traces the lives of two individuals who are very much in love, but are boggled by rifts that occur in their relationship. Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi also stars Dhanya Balakrishna, Bobby Simha, Pooja Ramachandran, and others.

Yaaradi Nee Mohini - SunNXT

Yaaradi Nee Mohini is a 2008 romantic comedy film, starring Dhanush and Nayanthara in the lead roles. The film is the remake of the Telugu film Aadavari Matalaku Arthale Verule, directed by Selvaraghavan. With a supporting cast of Raghuvaran, Karunas, K Vishwanath, Karthik Kumar and others, Yaaradi Nee Mohini is about a newly joined employee who falls in love with his senior. But as fate has it, she turns out to be the fiancée of his friend.
